As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and psychotherapist, my goal is to help you actually get better, not just feel better. Whether getting better involves exploring and understanding feelings, identifying and challenging unhelpful ways of thinking, or changing unwanted or unhelpful behaviors, with persistence, support, and hard work, getting better happens and life becomes a richer and more fulfilling journey.
My philosophy of helping people reach their goals is strongly rooted in first and foremost understanding that through growth-fostering relationships people get better. I strive to provide an opportunity for a therapeutic, growth-fostering relationship that facilitates the type of changes and/or climate you seek through your therapy journey at this time. I am non-directive in terms of setting our agenda, determing goals, and driving the pace and length of our work together; and at the same time, I tend to be direct in terms of being present, listening, interacting, being responsive, accessible, transparent, and engaged relationally.
Through getting to know you, striving toward connection always, exploring the disconnections and connections in your life and in therapy, and by moving together through a series of conversations, we will focus on the stengths that move you toward, and the obstacles that may be holding you back from, experiencing a more connected, fulfilling, and meaningful life. Whether you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
